Every year on New Year's Eve Orange Grove Blvd is turned into a pedestrian walkway for 1.5 miles beginning at our intersection at Columbia Street and going up past the Wrigley Mansion Tournament of Roses International HQ, (approximately a mile from the Bissell House) to the Norton Simon Museum on Colorado Blvd where most of the cameras are lined up to film the Parade on national television.
Not only can our guests walk to the parade, they can also experience the The Rose Bowl Parade floats up close and personal, on either New Year's Eve or early morning New Year's Day-as they are lined up and down Orange Grove, many turning onto Orange Grove from Columbia at our corner. The floats are fresh and beautiful and make for great photos.
Be sure to check out our Facebook Albums for some of the up close shots from past parades you can obtain yourself while staying with us. To reserve a stay over New Year's please click on "Book Now" or "Check Rates" from the home page or call us directly at 626.441.3535. Rates are higher and there is a four night minimum requirement.
Nothing compares to the beauty of the Bissell House Bed and Breakfast's Victorian Christmas Decorations and fun both New Years Eve and New Year's Day combined by being able to avoid the crowds, traffic and congestion. Instead, our guests can just walk up the street to see the floats and parade.
