The Bissell House's Policies
Check-in time is from 3-7 pm. Check-out time is 11 am.
As we are not a hotel, we do not have 24-hour check-in capability.
Please respect quiet hours between 10 pm and 7 am.
Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of your deposit, a one night deposit for one night's stay or up to 100% of your total reservation for longer stays. This may appear as two separate charges on your credit card statement. Any remaining balance will be collected prior to arrival. All rates are based upon double occupancy.
Additional persons will be charged additional fees. Children up to the age of 12 that share an existing bed will not be charged. We do not accept cash payments or offer hourly rates. In addition, we require a security deposit and valid photo ID upon arrival.
As we are a small independent business, cancellations affect us greatly.
Therefore, all cancellations are subject to a minimum $35 per booked room cancellation fee and are treated as follows:
- In advance of 14 full days prior to arrival date - Refund of deposit, less the $35 cancellation fee.
- Within two weeks from arrival - Refund of deposit based on our ability to resell your room(s), less the $35 fee.
- A 30-day cancellation applies to all holidays, months of May/June/September/October and from mid-November through January 15th.
- 30-day cancellation or more applies to all bookings of more than two rooms year round.
EXCEPTION: New Year's week reservations are paid in full, in advance, and are non-refundable.
Please be sure to acquire trip insurance in the event of unexpected illness, death or weather-related emergencies as we are not able to make an exception to this policy.
Additional policies apply to group reservations of three or more rooms.
All cancellations must be provided to the innkeeper in writing. You will receive any refund due within 30 days.
We are a 100% smoke-free property.
Photo and Filming Policy
All photoshoots and filming are subject to advance approval by the owners. At least seven days advance written notice required prior to any personal or professional photoshoots. No closed door filming allowed. Additional fees apply.
In other words, you may not simply reserve a room for a photoshoot or filming. A liaison designated by the Bissell House will be assigned to monitor all photoshoots and filming.
Please call Janet at 626.441.3535 for further details.
Refreshments in Rooms
Please treat our home as you would your own. We are an independent small business. No cooking of any kind is allowed in any of the rooms. We also ask that you do not consume red wine in the guest rooms. A fee will be assessed for any extraordinary cleaning charges.
Victorian Era pipes were smaller in diameter than modern day ones. For this reason, we request you please refrain from using anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. In other words, please do not dispose of Kleenex, Q tips, flushable wipes, feminine hygiene products, matchsticks or dental floss in the toilets and instead use the trash bin next to it.
