HOUSEKEEPING: We are unable to enter your rooms for covid-compliance reasons, therefore, if you require extra linens and/or for EXTENDED STAYS, PLEASE ASK and we will Leave them for you outside your door. Again, we apologize for this temporary inconvenience due to covid compliance.


CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: Currently our check in procedure is primarily CONTACT LESS. Please RING the Doorbell AND ALSO CALL US AT 626.441.3535 to CHECK IN so we don't provide the door code over a loud speaker. Masks and Hand Sanitizer is provided just inside the front door for guests.

PAYMENT: Reservations are confirmed after completing your booking. Payment is collected in full at time of booking. We do not accept cash payments or offer hourly rates. In addition, we also authorize a security deposit of $250 on your card, which will be released after checkout. These are taken for every reservation no matter the method of payment. For any room that allows for an additional person there is a $60 charge for adults and $45 for children over 2 years old.

CANCELLATION POLICY:When you made your reservation, you were required to check a box acknowledging our cancellation policy. This acts as your signature and is legally binding. The fact that you completed your reservation with us constitutes your having accepted and agreed to the below terms and conditions of our cancellation policy. Not reading the policies does not constitute an exception to the contract. All cancellations are subject to our terms and conditions as set forth in our policies which are made available to all guests PRIOR to reserving and confirmed immediately upon reserving. Wedding and event bookings have a 45 day cancellation time frame.

Additional policies apply to group reservations of three or more rooms. Gratuity of $20.00 per room will be applied to each room.
All cancellations/modifications must be provided to the innkeeper in writing. You will receive any refund due within 30 days.

IMPORTANT- If you booked through a 3rd party website such as Booking.com, you MUST cancel your reservation through them. We are unable to cancel for you, please notify us first and then proceed with your cancellation with them. Again, our terms apply to all reservations, however, you must initiate the cancellation through the OTA you originally booked with in order for us to process it.

PHOTO AND FILMING POLICY: All photo shoots and filming of any kind are subject to advance approval by the owners. At least seven days advance written notice required prior to any personal or professional photo shoots. No exceptions. No closed door filming allowed. Additional fees apply. You may not simply reserve a room for a photo shoot or filming. A liaison designated by the Bissell House will be assigned to monitor all photo shoots and filming. Please call us at 626.441.3535 for further details if you have questions about this policy.

LUGGAGE: As we are a Bed and Breakfast/Inn and not a hotel, please note that there is no bellhop on the premises to assist with luggage. All guest rooms are on the second and third floor and accessed by stairs only.

NO SMOKING OR BURNING: We are a completely non-smoking property for health and fire safety purposes, among other factors. This includes all tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and similar devices, medical and recreational marijuana, as well as the lighting, burning, or combustion of any substance, including but not limited to, incense and any plant material.

A guest who violates this policy, or allows a non-guest to violate the policy will automatically be charged a minimum fee of $400 to return the room or space to a non-smoking condition. Any violation of this policy will be cause for immediate eviction, and there will no refund. Any guest who violates this policy will remain personally liable for $400 fee if the guest’s payment card is declined.

PARKING: One parking space inside our property is included for you. Should you need extra space you will need to procure a nightly pass at Pasadena City hall. If you drive an oversize vehicle you will find that it is difficult to navigate our narrow driveway with the port cocheres.

REFRESHMENT IN ROOMS: Please treat our home as you would your own. If you choose to take refreshment in your room(s) we ask that you take care. We prefer that you do not bring excess food and groceries into your room as it can attract pests. We are an independent small business. Spills are costly and time intensive to rectify. No cooking of any kind is allowed in any of the rooms. We also ask that you do not consume red wine in the guest rooms. A fee will be assessed for any extraordinary cleaning charges.

INTERNET: We have complimentary gigabit wifi capability throughout the house.

PLUMBING: Our plumbing works fine. However, you are staying at a house built in 1887, thus, Victorian Era pipes, which were smaller in diameter than the larger modern day plastic "cvc" ones. For this reason, we request you NOT use anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. Excess toilet paper, dental floss, matchsticks, Kleenex, Q tips, “flushable wipes” and feminine hygiene products will ALL clog the toilets and should never be put down them. These are the only reasons they clog and it is no fun for you (and especially us) to have to deal with. We appreciate your thoughtful attention to this and thank you in advance for compliance.

CHILDREN: For safety reasons and as a courtesy to fellow guests, we ask that parents be attentive to their children's conduct. Children must be monitored and attended to. At no time should children ever be left alone at any time, indoors or out. We also have a no running, no screaming policy inside the house.

GRATUITY: Many people inquire as to etiquette surrounding the topic of tipping. Tipping is optional but much appreciated by our hardworking innkeepers who care for you during your stay. Please know that your room attendants vary from day to day. Tips are not pooled.

PETS: While we wish we could, we are sorry but we cannot accept pets. We make up for this by supporting animal welfare work both personally and professionally. If this is a concern for you please let us know prior to making your reservation. Service Animals are never denied.

Check in time begins at 3pm. We offer early check-in for an additional $30.00 with guaranteed arrival at 1 pm. Should you arrive prior to 3pm, you may purchase early check in at the door based on the time with advance notice to the inn. Please respect quiet hours between 10pm and 7am. Check out time is 11:00 am. Late check-out may be available for an additional $30 until 1pm, depending on availability.
